Book a dive
Last updated: July 2026.
These terms govern your booking of, and participation in, diving, snorkelling, excursion and water-sports activities with Oceanix Dive and Water Sports ("we", "us", "our"), a dive and water-sports operator based in the Republic of Maldives. Please read them carefully. By making a booking or taking part in any activity, you (and everyone in your party) agree to these terms.
These terms apply to every booking made with us, whether online, by email, by phone, through a messaging app or in person at the centre. Where you book on behalf of others, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that you have shared these terms with them. They apply alongside any activity-specific rules, safety briefings and the standards of the certifying agency (for example PADI) under which a course or dive is conducted.
A booking request is not confirmed until we acknowledge it and confirm availability, usually by email or message. We may decline or limit a booking where an activity is full, unsuitable for your experience level, or unsafe to run.
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information — including names, ages, certification details, medical information and contact details — for everyone in your party. Places on boats and in courses are limited and are allocated on confirmation.
Please give us as much notice as possible. Unless a different notice period was agreed for your booking:
Safety comes first. If we cancel or cut short an activity because of weather, sea conditions, insufficient numbers, equipment or operational reasons, we will offer you a reschedule or a full refund of the affected activity. Our responsibility is limited to the amount you paid us for that activity; we are not responsible for other costs such as travel, transfers or accommodation.
Diving and water sports are physically demanding. Before diving, and before some other activities, you must complete a diver medical questionnaire and truthfully declare any relevant medical condition. If any question is answered "yes", you may be required to obtain written clearance from a physician before taking part.
For certified (guided) dives you must present a recognised certification card and, where requested, a logbook. If you have not dived recently we may ask you to complete a refresher or a check dive first. Our staff may assess your skills in the water and, on safety grounds, adjust the dive, the site or your participation. Charges for a required refresher are additional.
Scuba diving, freediving, snorkelling, boat excursions and water sports carry inherent risks that cannot be eliminated, including risks of injury, decompression illness, drowning and, in rare cases, death. By taking part you acknowledge and voluntarily accept these risks.
You must attend and follow all safety briefings and the instructions of our guides, instructors and boat crew at all times, dive within the limits of your training and experience, use the buddy system where required, and use equipment only as instructed. We may end your participation, without refund, if you behave unsafely or ignore instructions.
You are responsible for the costs of any medical treatment, hyperbaric care, search, rescue or evacuation arising from your participation. We do not provide, and are not responsible for, such cover or costs.
Dive sites, excursion routes, departure times, marine-life sightings and itineraries are indicative and depend on weather, tides, currents, visibility, boat traffic and the conditions on the day. We may change or substitute sites and schedules for safety or operational reasons. Marine-life encounters are never guaranteed. We are not liable for changes made on these grounds beyond the reschedule-or-refund remedy set out above.
Where we supply equipment, please treat it with care and return it at the end of the activity in the condition it was issued. You are responsible for the reasonable cost of repair or replacement of equipment lost or damaged through misuse or negligence. If you use your own equipment, it must be serviceable, suitable and, where relevant, in current service.
The Maldives' reefs are fragile and, in places, legally protected. To help protect them and keep everyone safe, you agree to:
We may refuse or end participation, without refund, in response to unsafe, unlawful or abusive behaviour.
We may take photographs or video during activities and may use them to promote the centre, including on our website and social media. If you would prefer that images of you or your party are not used, please tell us in writing and we will respect your request.
We collect and use the personal and medical information you provide only to process your booking, keep you safe, meet legal and certification requirements, and contact you about your activity. We do not sell your data. If you would like to know what we hold or ask us to update or remove it, please contact us using the details below.
To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of the Republic of Maldives, our liability arising out of or in connection with your booking or participation is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant activity, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence.
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your participation, are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your booking is the one that applies. Please check back for the current version before you book.
